Truprint Photo Prints Review

Truprint will be a familiar favourite with people who are used to sending away rolls of film in one of their pre-paid envelopes which are often to be found tucked into magazines and newspapers. Truprint have been running a mail order photo processing business for as long as we can remember, so they are incredibly well placed to enter the online digital printing market as they have already got a great infrastructure in place for dealing with the demands of a mail order photo processing business. They offer their processing in partnership with Snapfish. Truprint are also still offering film development, and give away a free camera film with every film processed.

WHEN YOU FIRST LOG ON

There's no beating about the bush with Truprint, the registration page is glaringly obvious. They only give you two navigation options and haven't cluttered their home page with lots of links. Just give them your name and e-mail address, then select a password and you're in!

UPLOADING YOUR PICTURES

Each new set of photos you upload to Truprint is automatically stored in a new album. If you look carefully, there's a small link below that option which allows you to upload to an existing album if you wish. Truprints QuickUpload tool is easy to use. All you have to do is click on the "select photos" button and the interface automatically pulls up the "My Pictures" folder from your PC. There are two upload options. one speeds upload time by up to 500%, the other is for those wishing to print large posters and gifts. If you are unable to use the multiple upload for any reason there is a small link on the right hand side of the page which directs you to the html based option. Unfortunately, this only allows you to upload one image at a time, which isn't much good if you've just come back from your fornight in Marbella with 400 pictures you're just dying to get into the family album! The progress bar on each image was a good feature as it let us know how quickly various image sizes were likely to take to upload on our internet connection.

STORAGE CAPACITY & ONLINE ALBUMS

Truprint offers unlimited albums and storage to all customers. All you have to do to gain access to this facility is register for the site and get down to the serious business of getting all your pictures uploaded. As with other photo gallery facilities offered by their competitors, Truprint offer the ability to share your photos with all your friends. A great feature was that Truprint calculate how much each album will cost to process and display the information in the top left hand corner of each one.

ORDER PROCESS

To order prints, you can either select an album en-masse, or select individual prints to add to your photo shopping basket. Once added, its simple to select from the many finishes and border options made available. There's an interesting option that lets you pre-pay prints in bulk and save money. This will allow you to get prints for 8p instead of Truprints standard 10p bracket.

DELIVERY & PRINT QUALITY

Our order was delivered within 48 hours. We actually sent some holiday snaps to our reviewers grandmother's address to test out Truprints "different delivery address" performance. All went well, and the quality was excellent as was the protective packaging to keep the photos in pristine condition.
